The Lions Funds - As an active participant in the venture capital and industry, Lions Capital Corp. often come across promising technology, life science and clean tech companies (some of which may already be portfolio companies) where there is an opportunity to purchase securities in the secondary market from existing shareholders seeking liquidity.  Due to the personal circumstances of the seller and/or the lack of an active trading market, these securities can often be purchased at a significant discount from fair market value.

To take advantage of these opportunities, Lions Capital formed Lions Liquidity Investment Fund I Limited Partnership ("Lions Fund I") in 2006.

Lions Fund I was launched in 2006 and is now fully invested.  Lions Fund I has performed very well, currently posting an 11.1% IRR (as at December 31, 2009) on its portfolio since inception despite one of the most challenging market periods on record.  Prior to the market challenges, the IRR of Lions Fund I was 41.4% on March 31, 2008 and was 59.5% on March 31, 2007.  This IRR includes one fully realized investment which yielded an IRR of 54.0%.
